Be a Good Cookie
We love all kinds of treats but if you're stumped as to what to make, here are a few insights we've gleaned from peddling goodies the past few years:
- Chocolate in any one of its many forms is a reliably good seller. A superstar volunteer made peanut butter cups last year and people went gonzo for them.
- Demand for vegan, gluten-free, and nut-free goodies often exceeds supply. If inspired, please do bring 'em.
- Treats that double as gift items go quickly and fetch a high price. For example, two years ago a superstar volunteer prettily packaged together homemade marshmallows with real hot cocoa mix. Before you could say, "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious," someone bought all of them to give as gifts to her kid's teachers. So, no pressure, but if you're feeling especially motivated and crafty, this sort of thing will be a hit.
